Soccer Game Preview: Prospect vs. Gunderson

The Prospect Panthers will head out to square off against the Gunderson Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gunderson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Prospect, who comes in off a win.

Prospect will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Oak Grove on Friday. Prospect blew past Oak Grove 10-1. With the Panthers ahead 8-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Gunderson fell victim to Piedmont Hills and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. The loss continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost three in a row.

Gunderson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-2. As for Prospect, their win bumped their record up to 5-7-4.

Prospect took their victory against Gunderson in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prospect since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
