Baseball Game Preview: Yoakum Bulldogs vs. Tidehaven Tigers

The Yoakum Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Tidehaven Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Yoakum managed to slip by Industrial the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Yoakum came up short against Industrial on Thursday, falling 12-5.

Sutton Pavliska made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Bryce Mercer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Tidehaven not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 10, 2024. They never let Rice Consolidated get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

The team relied heavily on JECHAN DURAN, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was BOOGIE GALVAN, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Tidehaven always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rice Consolidated only posted an OBP of .278.

Yoakum has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7-1 record this season. Tidehaven's record now sits at 9-4-1.

Yoakum might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from Tidehaven in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Yoakum avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
