Softball Recap: Saks Wildcats vs. Wadley Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wellborn, Saks was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Wadley Bulldogs with a sharp 12-1 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Saks got a massive performance out of Adrianna Stevens, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Snead, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Stevens wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Saks kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wadley only managed three hits.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Wadley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Saks Wildcats face off against Randolph County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saks' pitchers better be ready for this one: Randolph County has averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Wadley, they will venture away from home to square off against Lee-Scott Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lee-Scott Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Wadley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
