Baseball Recap: Hanson Memorial Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Hanson Memorial challenged Livonia on Saturday. The Hanson Memorial Tigers came out on top against the Livonia Wildcats by a score of 7-2. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Owen Vacarella made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Hanson Memorial is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 2-4-1 otherwise. Vacarella was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Clements, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Trey Rochel was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hanson Memorial now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Livonia, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3-1.
