Baseball Game Preview: Fontainebleau Bulldogs vs. St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons

Fontainebleau and St. Thomas Aquinas are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2022, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Fontainebleau has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Fontainebleau fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Northshore on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered against the Panthers since March 26, 2019.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Thomas Aquinas, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let Independence get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Falcons needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

St. Thomas Aquinas' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-15. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Fontainebleau, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Fontainebleau came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Thomas Aquinas in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
