Basketball Game Preview: Loretto Mustangs vs. Forrest Rockets

Having just played yesterday, the Loretto Mustangs will get right back to it and host the Forrest Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Loretto has three straight victories, Forrest has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Thursday, Loretto was able to grind out a solid win over Richland, taking the game 58-45. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Mustangs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Raiders are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Forrest lost to Community on the road by a 47-30 margin on Tuesday.

Forrest's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Loretto, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.

Everything went Loretto's way against Forrest when the teams last played back in January, as Loretto made off with a 59-33 victory. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
