Volleyball Recap: Maumee Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Maumee had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Genoa Area Comets. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Comets, too.

Maumee was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 22-25, 25-27, 25-22, 15-10.

Sydney Genot paced Maumee's offense, picking up 18 kills. Genot got some help from Brooke Kwiatkowski and her 39 assists. Kwiatkowski was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Maumee's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Genoa Area, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Maumee will challenge rival Lake at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Genoa Area is set to square off against their familiar foe Otsego at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
