1A District 1 Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Saturday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Jamar Smith's Big Game Leads Glasgow over Wilmington Charter

Jamar Smith helped snap Glasgow's six-game losing streak dating back to last season. Wilmington Charter had no answer to Smith on Saturday as he rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown. Smith also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles.

Smith and Glasgow will square off against Christiana at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Vikings, probably because Smith had a solid game then too: he rushed for 120 yards. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Wilmington Charter Gets a Boost from Aldas in 12-7 Loss

Wilmington Charter was sadly handed a defeat on Saturday, but Juan Aldas did his best to prevent it. Aldas turned in nothing short of a gem, picking up a sack and making 14 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Aldas might have his next game, a home matchup with St. Elizabeth, circled on his calendar. Back in November of 2023 (the last time Aldas saw the Vikings), he picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Kameryn Swinney Delivers Best Effort of Season

Wilmington Charter had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Swinney it was a similar story. Swinney picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss) the last time he and the Force duked it out back in October of 2023.
