Softball Recap: Chambers Cougars vs. West Charlotte Lions
Chambers had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-9-1 to make it four. They took a 24-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Charlotte Lions. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Lions this season, with their most recent loss being a 15-14 defeat on Tuesday.
As for West Charlotte, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-7. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the game before.
For West Charlotte's part, Kemajh Mitchell was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with 11 stolen bases. Taylor Blocker was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and six stolen bases.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Charlotte beat Chambers by a score of 15-14 later that day.
