Basketball Recap: Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg vs. Pana Panthers

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Pana Panthers on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Jackson Gurgel and Nathaniel Gracey certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Gurgel scored 15 points along with three steals, while Gracey scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gracey has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Rylan Rincker, who scored eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg and nudges their season record down to 12-15. As for Pana, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg will challenge the Aces at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mulberry Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. As for Pana, they will head out on the road to square off against the Piasa Birds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwestern is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.1 points per game this season.
