Football Recap: Gilmour Academy Takes a Loss

Gilmour Academy was the 33-13 winner over Hawken when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lancers had to suffer through a 42-13 loss at the hands of the Hawks. The Lancers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

A big part of Hawken's victory came down to the chemistry between Donovan Moorhead and his top target Charlie Mallett. Moorhead threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns while completing 91.2% of his passes while Mallett picked up 154 receiving yards and three scores. That's the most receiving yards Mallett has posted since back in September of 2024.

Gilmour Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Hawken, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilmour Academy will face off against Lake Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hawken, they will take on Geneva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
