Baseball Recap: Juniata Gets the Win

Juniata was handed a 11-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They skirted past the Line Mountain Eagles 14-13. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Gage Harlon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Juniata's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-6-1 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Garrett Imes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Bryce Harlon, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Juniata now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Line Mountain, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Juniata didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-1 loss against Halifax on the 30th. As for Line Mountain, they have also already played their next matchup, a 17-5 defeat against Susquenita on the 30th.
