Baseball Game Preview: Holy Name Green Wave vs. Archbishop McNicholas Rockets

The Holy Name Green Wave will head out to take on the Archbishop McNicholas Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Name will be strutting in after a victory while Archbishop McNicholas will be coming in after a loss.

Holy Name will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Solon, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Green Wave were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Comets on Saturday. That looming 14-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Green Wave yet this season.

Harrison Frank looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Nick Nemeth was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in May of 2024. Brendon Preisel also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Holy Name always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Archbishop McNicholas didn't have quite enough to beat Chaminade Julienne Catholic on Monday and fell 2-1.

Archbishop McNicholas' defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for Holy Name, their record now sits at 3-5.
