Volleyball Recap: Cass Tech Takes a Loss

If Cass Tech was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mumford on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Technicians came up short against the Renaissance Phoenix on Monday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Phoenix this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in September.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20, 25-15.

Kennedy Hopson paced Cass Tech's offense, picking up three kills. Hopson really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with seven. Finally, Laurin Edwards kept Cass Tech's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Cass Tech has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-23-1 record this season. As for Renaissance, they pushed their record up to 33-5-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

As of now, neither Cass Tech nor the Phoenix have any future games scheduled.
