Baseball Recap: Henderson County Wins Going Away Against Union County

Henderson County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Union County on Tuesday. The Colonels put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 12-1 win. The matchup marked the Colonels' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Henderson County got a great performance from Maddox Golday as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Golday has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Maxton Meadows was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Corben Throgmorton, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Henderson County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

As for Union County, they will face off against Caldwell County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Braves' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
