Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees

The Roosevelt Rough Riders will take on the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Roosevelt needed a bit of extra time to put away Aurora. They had just enough and edged out the Greenmen 2-1.

Tristyn Page spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. Roosevelt is undefeated when Page posts eight or more strikeouts, but 3-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Roosevelt saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Estep, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Estep's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Brecksville-Broadview Heights hadn't done well against Wadsworth recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bees blew past the Grizzlies 8-2.

Brecksville-Broadview Heights is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, their victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-6.
