Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jerry Birdlow and James Chaney Lead Slidell to Victory

Slidell won against Lutcher last Wednesday with 62 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Slidell Tigers were the clear victor by a 62-42 margin over the Central Lafourche Trojans. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Slidell was led to victory by James Chaney and Jerry Birdlow. Chaney went 9 of 14 en route to 19 points along with six boards and three steals, while Birdlow went 7 of 8 on his way to 14 points along with seven boards and three steals. The matchup was Chaney's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Lucas, who posted eight points and four steals.

The victory was the third in a row for Slidell, bringing their record for this year to 9-2. As for Central Lafourche, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Slidell and Terrebonne will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Central Lafourche, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Assumption at 4:30 p.m.
