Basketball Recap: South El Monte's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

South El Monte entered their tilt with Marshall on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 55-39 victory over the Marshall Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 64-37 last Thursday.

South El Monte's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tony Aguilar, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Aguilar is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nathan Oros, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

South El Monte pushed their record up to 9-15 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Marshall, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.

Coincidentally, South El Monte and Marshall will both be playing Rosemead the next time they take the court. Marshall will host Rosemead at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while South El Monte will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
