Basketball Recap: Garner Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Garner played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 62-13 defeat at the hands of the Apex Cougars. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-9.

Garner's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaitlyn Dean, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds, and Chi Wilkins, who earned a point.

Apex found their leader in sophomore Elizabeth Austin, who went 8-for-14 en route to 16 points along with five boards and four steals. Austin has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella DeGrow, who had seven points in addition to 12 rebounds and three steals.

Garner now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Apex, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Garner will face off against Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Apex, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cary at 6:30 p.m. on December 5.
