Softball Recap: Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley nor Eureka made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Falcons fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Eureka, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley will challenge St. Joseph-Ogden at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
