Baseball Game Preview: Garnet Valley Jaguars vs. Harriton Rams

The Garnet Valley Jaguars will take on the Harriton Rams at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Garnet Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Harriton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Garnet Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Radnor and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Jaguars have lost by just one run.

Garnet Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan McGhee, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Harriton couldn't beat Haverford on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Rams came up short against the Fords, falling 11-5.

Bryce Siegel and Cole Chodkowski stepped up to the plate in a big way. Siegel got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Chodkowski went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Siegel is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Colin Sullivan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Garnet Valley's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-7. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 2.75 runs. As for Harriton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Everything went Garnet Valley's way against Harriton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Garnet Valley made off with a 22-1 win. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
