Volleyball Game Preview: Mullen Mustangs vs. Mead Mavericks

The Mullen Mustangs will challenge the Mead Mavericks at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Mullen is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Windsor, who was ranked 17th at the time (Mullen was ranked 21st). The Mustangs came up short against the Wizards on Friday, falling 3-0. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meanwhile, Mead lost 3-0 to Lutheran on Friday. The Mavericks haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Mead's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Mullen, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5.

Mullen was able to grind out a solid victory over Mead in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, winning 3-1. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Mavericks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
