Soccer Game Preview: Mountain Ridge vs. O'Connor

Mountain Ridge hasn't had much luck against O'Connor recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions will welcome the O'Connor Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Mountain Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Pinnacle, who was ranked first at the time (Mountain Ridge was ranked 25th). Mountain Ridge fell just short of Pinnacle by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Mountain Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, O'Connor was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They lost 5-1 to Pinnacle.

O'Connor's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Mountain Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6-2.

Mountain Ridge beat O'Connor by a goal in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 3-2. Does Mountain Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will O'Connor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
