Basketball Recap: Westhope/Newburg Beats Glenburn for Their 11th Straight Victory

Westhope/Newburg came tearing into Monday's match with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.9 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 82-40 win over the Glenburn Panther. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Sioux had established a 35 point advantage.

Westhope/Newburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dayton Hawkins led the charge by going 7-for-15 en route to 22 points along with five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Bailey, who went 11-for-22 to rack up 24 points.

Westhope/Newburg pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Glenburn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-16.

Coming up, Westhope/Newburg will head out to take on Garrison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenburn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
