Basketball Recap: Northside Christian Comes Up Short

Northside Christian lost against Zephyrhills Christian Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Northside Christian Mustangs were beaten by the Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors 77-40. The Mustangs were down 54-33 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Northside Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Elijah Ahlers almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. Jon Myers was another key player, putting up ten points.

Sansao Wika continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Wika is now averaging an impressive 17.7 points per game. Another player making a difference was Caleb Gilmore, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 17 points.

Northside Christian now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Northside Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 99-37 win against Lakeside Christian on the 10th. As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-39 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 11th.
