Baseball Game Preview: Charles Henderson Trojans vs. Autauga Academy Generals

The Charles Henderson Trojans will be taking part in a tournament against the Autauga Academy Generals at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Charles Henderson will be strutting in after a victory while Autauga Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Charles Henderson proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Reeltown 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since April 13, 2024.

Will Watkins looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Charles Henderson is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Cooper Johnson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Ben Cochran, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Autauga Academy came up short against Holtville on Thursday and fell 4-1.

Charles Henderson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. Autauga Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.
