Volleyball Recap: Kyra Welch and Brooke Huegel Secure Win for Providence Academy

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Providence Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on Eagle Ridge Academy with a sharp 3-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 25-15.

Leading Providence Academy to victory were Brooke Huegel and Kyra Welch. Huegel had 19 digs and one assist, while Welch had five kills, five blocks, four digs, and two aces. That's the most digs Welch has posted over her last seven matches.

The win got Providence Academy back to even at 15-15. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, with the defeat, they broke their six-match winning streak and moved their record to 14-13.

Coming up, Providence Academy will head out to square off against Watertown-Mayer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eagle Ridge Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
