Softball Game Preview: Morse Shipbuilders vs. Oceanside Mariners

Morse is 0-6 against Oceanside since May of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Shipbuilders will venture away from home to challenge the Mariners at 4:00 p.m. Morse will be strutting in after a victory while Oceanside will be coming in after a defeat.

Morse came out on top against Lincoln Academy on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run sixth inning. The Shipbuilders put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 16-4 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Oceanside's offense. They lost 18-0 to Medomak Valley on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Mariners in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Oceanside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Morse, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-12 record.

Morse couldn't quite get it done against Oceanside in their previous meeting back in June of 2025 as they fell 8-4. Can the Shipbuilders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
