Baseball Preview: Holmes County Blue Devils vs. Franklin County Seahawks        
        
		
            The Holmes County Blue Devils will head out on the road to  challenge  the Franklin County Seahawks  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Holmes County gave up the first  runs last Friday, but they didn't let that get them  down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Choctawhatchee, sneaking past  6-5.
 Kopper Nelson tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out six over 5.2 innings pitched.

 At the plate, Holmes County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Lyndan Flanary, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave  Flanary a new career-high in  RBI (three).  Aiden Justice was another,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Franklin County waltzed into their contest  on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with  a   9-5  win over the Tigers.
  Chason Martina was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.  Preston Klaus also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.
 Franklin County's record now sits at 3-1. As for Holmes County, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Holmes County has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 3.3  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Franklin County struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 4  stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 Everything went Holmes County's way against Franklin County in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024, as Holmes County made off with  a  10-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Holmes County since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
