Baseball Game Preview: Rusk Eagles vs. Tyler Legacy Raiders

The Rusk Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Tyler Legacy Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rusk's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Diboll 7-0. The Eagles not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 17th.

Rusk's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trendon Bonin, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Carter Holland also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Meanwhile, Tyler Legacy hadn't done well against Rockwall-Heath recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Tyler Legacy had just enough and edged out Rockwall-Heath 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Rusk is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. Tyler Legacy's record now sits at 6-4.
