Softball Game Preview: Westfield Bombers vs. Walpole Timberwolves

The Westfield Bombers will venture away from home to challenge the Walpole Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.

Westfield's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Somerset Berkley Regional. Give the Bombers' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Walpole). They blew past Stoughton 17-0 on Wednesday. The Timberwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.

Westfield pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Walpole, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
