Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Highland

While Highland's victory against West wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Panthers on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ethan Cartwright tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Jackson Gold was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Matthew Smith also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Highland's record is now 4-20. As for West, they dropped their record down to 0-25 with the defeat, which was their 26th straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Highland nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
