Soccer Game Preview: Kerman vs. Selma

The Kerman Lions will face off against the Selma Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Wednesday, Kerman came up short against Reedley and fell 4-2. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 421st, while the Pirates are ranked 71st).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Selma). They came out on top against Exeter by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by exactly two goals.

Selma now has a winning record of 6-5-2. As for Kerman, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9-2.

Kerman was able to grind out a solid victory over Selma in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 4-2. Does Kerman have another victory up their sleeve, or will Selma turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
