Softball Game Preview: Sayre Sabres vs. Sullivan County Griffins

The Sayre Sabres will venture away from home to face off against the Sullivan County Griffins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sayre has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 18.

Wyalusing Valley hit Sayre with a seven-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Sabres came up short against the Rams, falling 11-0.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Sullivan County's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to Northwest Area. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Griffins' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Sullivan County's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Sayre, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Sayre suffered a grim 16-5 defeat to Sullivan County when the teams last played back in April. Can the Sabres avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
