On Tuesday, St. Laurence faced Brother Rice in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The St. Laurence Vikings had just enough and edged the Brother Rice Crusaders out 61-59. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on seven straight.

St. Laurence pushed their record up to 23-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.4 points. As for Brother Rice, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 23-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Laurence will face off against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brother Rice, they will square off against Chicago Mt. Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chicago Mt. Carmel knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Brother Rice likes a good challenge.
