Basketball Recap: Five Straight Road Wins for Ramona

Ramona's game on Monday was all tied up 37-37 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 78-66 win over Mission Vista. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with Mission Vista recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Ramona's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daniel Penner led the charge by going 7-for-15 on his way to 21 points and three steals. The match was Penner's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Dillon, who went 5-for-12 en route to 19 points.

Ramona smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Ramona pushed their record up to 11-14 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points over those games. As for Mission Vista, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 18 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-22 record this season.

Ramona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-53 victory against Rancho Bernardo on the 11th. As for Mission Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-53 win against Oceanside on the 12th.
