Basketball Game Preview: Mankato West Scarlets vs. New Prague Trojans

The Mankato West Scarlets will head out on the road to take on the New Prague Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mankato West lost 71-51 to Mound-Westonka on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Scarlets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the White Hawks are ranked 34th).

Meanwhile, New Prague was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 74-41 loss at the hands of Apple Valley.

New Prague's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Mankato West, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Mankato West beat New Prague 64-57 when the teams last played back in March of 2022. Does Mankato West have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Prague turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
