Basketball Recap: Philipsburg-Osceola Comes Up Short

Philipsburg-Osceola lost against Clearfield back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers were outmatched by the Clearfield Bison and fell 64-33. The game marked the Mountaineers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Clearfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Parker Collins out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Collins a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ev Maines, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Philipsburg-Osceola's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Clearfield, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

Philipsburg-Osceola didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-37 defeat against Penns Valley Area on the 10th. As for Clearfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-35 win against Bellwood-Antis on the 10th.
