Football Recap: Cordova Takes a Loss

Cordova had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-7 to make it seven. They took a blow against the Grant Pacers, falling 48-7. The Lancers were not able to make up for their loss to the Pacers from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Cordova still got an impressive performance from Trey Wallace, who threw for 193 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 45 yards.

As for Grant, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.5 points on average over those games.

Blake Nycum continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 352 yards and five touchdowns on perfect 10-for-10 passing. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played. A healthy portion of Nycum's aerial production (89 yards to be exact) went to Damarcus Brown, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Cordova does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grant, after each having a week off, they and Edison will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th.
