Volleyball Recap: Izzy Wang Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Claremont + How To Watch

Walnut hadn't done well against Claremont recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Mustangs blew past the Wolfpack 3-0. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

Walnut never let Claremont on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-12, 25-23.

Walnut's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Izzy Wang, who had four digs and two aces. That's the most aces Wang has posted over her last four contests. Joya Shen was another key player, getting ten digs and five assists.

Walnut's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 11-15. As for Claremont, the loss snapped their winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 11-8 record.
