Softball Recap: Shaker Heights Comes Up Short

Shaker Heights couldn't beat Medina on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Red Raiders fell just short of the Battling Bees by a score of 5-4. The Red Raiders have struggled against the Battling Bees recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Shaker Heights saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ekko Armstrong, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Shaker Heights suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 13-6. As for Medina, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

Looking ahead, Shaker Heights will venture away from home to take on Brunswick at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Red Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Medina, they will face off against Mentor at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Battling Bees surely won't give up without a fight.
