Basketball Preview: Crystal City Hornets vs. Brentwood Eagles
The Crystal City Hornets will square off against the Brentwood Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Crystal City focused on turnovers this week as the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Crystal City is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Friday. Everything went their way against Valley Park as Crystal City made off with a 77-55 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their 13-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Crystal City found their leader in freshman Addison Bova, who shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Hankins, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Brentwood had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 46-36 victory over McCluer North.
