Baseball Game Preview: Evangelical Christian Sentinels vs. Gulf Coast H HEAT

The Evangelical Christian Sentinels will challenge the Gulf Coast H HEAT at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Evangelical Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Island Coast and fell 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Sentinels in their meetings with the Gators: they've now lost three in a row.

Evangelical Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Slater Smith, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Gulf Coast H's offense. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (10-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Evangelical Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Gulf Coast H, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Evangelical Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Gulf Coast H struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Evangelical Christian took their win against Gulf Coast H in their previous meeting back in March of 2015 by a conclusive 11-3 score. Will the Sentinels repeat their success, or do the HEAT have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
