Recap: Johnson County Trojans vs. Wilkinson County Warriors
The Johnson County Trojans fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 21-12 victory over Wilkinson County on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Johnson County also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Nathan Turberville rushed for 13 yards and two touchdowns. Javaris Duckworth was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Bendarius Hodges rushed for 62 yards.
Although Wilkinson County took the loss, they still got scores from Quenterrion Sanford and Jeremiah Hill.
Johnson County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Wilkinson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Johnson County will head out on the road to face off against Twiggs County at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Twiggs County is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Wilkinson County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hancock Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hancock Central and Wilkinson County are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
