Football Recap: Smoky Hill Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Smoky Hill extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-5. They were beaten by the Grandview Wolves 40-6. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Wolves are ranked 13th).

As for Grandview, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The result was nothing new for Grandview, who have now won four matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.

Chris Blanks produced another solid performance rushing for 115 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Blitz McCarty, who threw for 182 yards and one TD while completing 90.9% of his passes.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Smoky Hill will challenge rival Arapahoe at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. Meanwhile, Grandview is set to take on their familiar foe Cherokee Trail at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Blanks and Logan Posey.
