Basketball Recap: Hope Christian Comes Up Short

Hope Christian lost against Rio Rancho back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hope Christian Huskies lost 75-51 to the Rio Rancho Rams. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-20.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rio Rancho to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kevin Archuleta, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Decker, who posted 14 points and five rebounds.

Hope Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Rio Rancho, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Hope Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 73-67 loss against St. Pius X on the 28th. As for Rio Rancho, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-63 defeat against La Cueva on the 28th.
