Volleyball Game Preview: Moorpark Musketeers vs. Royal Highlanders

Moorpark hasn't had much luck against Royal recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Moorpark Musketeers will square off against the Royal Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. Moorpark will be strutting in after a win while Royal will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row dating back to last season, Moorpark turned things around against Simi Valley on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Pioneers by a score of 3-1.

Moorpark had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-23, 27-25, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Royal unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Camarillo. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Highlanders were not able to get on the board.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-15, 25-19.

Royal's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Moorpark, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Moorpark suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Royal when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Moorpark avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
