Basketball Recap: Nebraska Lutheran Falls Despite Big Games from Lukas Worster and Dylan Hoehler

After flying high against Dorchester last Thursday, Nebraska Lutheran came back down to earth. The Nebraska Lutheran Knights came up short against the McCool Junction Mustangs on Friday, falling 64-38. The Knights have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Nebraska Lutheran's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dylan Hoehler, who went 5 of 7 en route to 12 points, and Lukas Worster, who posted 14 points. Worster is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games he's played.

Carson Mcdonald continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for McCool Junction, going 9 for 14 to rack up 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Mcdonald now owns an excellent 45.6% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Bryson Plock, who scored ten points along with six assists and six boards.

Nebraska Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for McCool Junction, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nebraska Lutheran will welcome Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for McCool Junction, they will be playing at home against Exeter-Milligan/Friend on Tuesday.
