Softball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central suffered their closest loss since May 6, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Hononegah Indians by a score of 6-4. The Rockets have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Olivia Sutton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Allie Botkin was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Hononegah, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Central will take on Prairie Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Rockets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hononegah, they will be playing at home against Boylan Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.22 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
