Softball Recap: Desert Heights Prep Comes Up Short

If Desert Heights Prep was riding high fresh off their 20-1 takedown of Maryvale Prep last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yote came up short against the Great Hearts Anthem Eagles on Tuesday, falling 12-2. The loss continues a trend for the Yote in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Angelina Ferguson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI.

Desert Heights Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Great Hearts Anthem, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Desert Heights Prep will take on North Valley Christian Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Great Hearts Anthem, they will square off against Glendale Prep Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
